Hen Party Mini Ceilidh in a wonderful setting at Rock Farm, West Bagborough with breathtaking views out over Taunton Vale.

Hen Party country dancing at West Bagborough

Set in the beautiful Quantock Hills, Rock Farm, West Bagborough near Taunton in rural Somerset, was an idyllic spot for spending a relaxing weekend and, last night, it proved a delightful location for a 12 person mini ceilidh hen party.

The views from this grade II listed farmhouse house are simply breathtaking and you can see over miles upon miles of Somerset’s finest rolling hills and landscape.

What better location to hold a hen party with country dancing to Barnbuskers music? Barnbuskers Ceilidh Band leader Judy walked the dancers through each dance before the music started and then continuing calling out the moves for as long as was needed. During the hour of the mini ceilidh, There were do-si-dos, right hand stars, left hand stars, dancing between the lines and lots of other moves that make up the country dancing repertoire. Not to mention, lots of laughter and a few whoops! It was a great way to set off a hen party weekend. The Barnbuskers music was recorded so the evening’s entertainment was very affordable.

So, if you are thinking of having a hen party and are looking for a low cost and entertaining hour of dancing with your friends, you only need a few people to make it a fun country dancing event. For example, Judy does ceilidh classes locally in Watchet and Minehead. Usually, there are up to 26 dancers but occasionally the numbers fall well below that. However, Judy, in common with all country dance callers, is very expert at selecting dances that are appropriate to the number of dancers on the floor. Recently, as few as four dancers were able to have an hour of country dancing fun at a Judy’s Ceilidh Class at Watchet Bowling Club. Obviously, the more the merrier but, as long as there are enough people for at least one set, the fun can begin. For more information, simply contact Judy via the links below.
