It’s a busy sports club weekend for Somerset and Devon based barn and ceilidh dance caller Judy. On Friday she is booked to call the country dances for the Minehead Swimming Club Barn Dance in Somerset and on Saturday she is booked with Barnbuskers Ceilidh Barn Dance Band to call the dances for the Fremington Trailblazers Running Club in Devon for their 10th anniversary party.
Country dancing is an ideal way for the families and friends of sports clubs to celebrate special events. The do-si-dos, circling to the left and right, galloping between the lines, occasional ducking and diving and more offer easy and fun physical activity plus social mixing for people of all generations and abilities. The dances can be walked, skipped or otherwise moved as ability allows.
No expertise is needed because all the dances begin with a walk through and then the caller continues calling the moves when the music starts and for as long as needed.
If you are looking for a country dance caller for your sports club barn dance or ceilidh dance, Judy would love to hear from you. Judy is also band leader and organiser for Barnbuskers Ceilidh Barn Dance Band and would be happy to bring her band along to play the toe tapping jigs and reels music for your dance too.
Barnbuskers Ceilidh Barn Dance Band provides traditional country dance folk music and a caller for lots of special occasions in Somerset and Devon throughout the year.
