Ceilidhs are great events for getting the family together for a birthday party and there is nothing more guaranteed to put a smile on the faces of Barnbuskers Ceilidh Barn Dance Band than to see happy children enjoying country dancing with their families. Last night our band was positively beaming with children and young families and even babes in arms having a great time at Lympstone Village Hall, East Devon, UK. The dances were walked through before the music started and then expert caller Simon (smiling photo below) continued to call the dance moves after the music started, as is usual with ceilidh and barn dance country dancing.

Lympstone Village Hall is a lovely place to hold a ceilidh barn dance. As it happens, Barnbuskers band leader and organiser Judy (photo centre below) is also a keen tennis player and was thrilled to see Lympstone Tennis Club members enjoying their Saturday afternoon club session on the courts next to the hall, an idyllic scene.

So, if you are thinking of holding a birthday party ceilidh or barn dance for young families and children in East Devon, Lympstone Village Hall might well suit you as it did the young families last night.
Of course, if you are looking for a band to provide the music and caller, we at Barnbuskers Ceilidh Barn Dance Band would also love to hear from you! We provide traditional country dance folk music and a caller for lots of special occasions in Somerset and Devon throughout the year. Our musician line up for a fun ceilidh or barn dance can vary from four musicians with caller for very large events, a Barnbuskers trio (as above) of three musicians with caller or a low cost duo with caller for smaller budget events ideal for fund raisers. We can even supply a caller with Barnbuskers recorded music, ideal for small gatherings of friends such as a hen party. It all depends on your needs. For more information and our availability from Judy, our band leader, simply follow the link to our Barnbuskers ceilidh and barn dance band contact page.
We’re also on social media. As well as Barnbuskers blog, we can be found on Facebook, Threads, Instagram, X or Bluesky. There is also a mailing list. Our band leader and organiser, Judy (photo above), is also available for information via this WhatsApp button. We look forward to hearing from you!
Bye for now!
