Love was most definitely all around at last night’s family barn dance to celebrate 20 years of marriage at Kewstoke Village Hall, Weston-Super-Mare, Somerset . The speeches from family members were loving, the pork roast was lovely and Barnbuskers Barn Dance Band loved the way the whole family and friends enthusiastically threw themselves into the barn dancing. This was despite the exceptional heat wave that had us in our shorts and mopping our brows.
Kewstoke Village Hall in Weston-Super-Mare proved ideal for the barn dance. It has a large car park and lots of space outside for chatting besides a recreational field. The stage was huge and easily able to cater for Barnbuskers band members Rob on violin, Sarah on guitar and Robin on wind instruments.
Band leader Judy was calling the dances, spending most of the time on the excellent dance floor leading the dancing but also joined in playing the tunes between dances. There were lots of enthusiastic do-si-dos, partner swinging, right hand stars and left hand stars, not to mention quite a bit of galloping between the lines. The dancers were loving it!
