Cowboy hats were in profusion and there was a very warm welcome from the hosts at the Wild West themed 50th Birthday Party last night where Barnbuskers provided the music and caller for a wonderful barn dance. In a packed marquee near Taunton, Somerset, Barnbuskers caller Bridget did a great job of calling the do-si-dos, right hand stars, left hand stars and lots of galloping between the lines for enthusiastic and athletic dancers across the generations.
Robin was on bass and soprano clarinets, Anthony was on guitar and band leader Judy provided a vivacious fiddle accompaniment.
Then, fuelled by an excellent and tasty hog roast, after the barn dancing, the birthday party guests went on to dance through the night to music provided by UltraBeatz DJ and a live band playing a marvellous range of covers songs. It was a wonderful evening of music, song and a hugely memorable 50th birthday celebration.
Barnbuskers Ceilidh Barn Dance Band provides traditional country dance folk music and a caller for lots of birthday parties in Somerset and Devon throughout the year as well as other special events and celebrations such as weddings or anniversaries. Our musician line up for a fun ceilidh or barn dance can vary from four musicians with caller for very large events, a Barnbuskers trio of three musicians with caller or a low cost duo with caller for smaller budget events. We can even supply a caller with Barnbuskers recorded music, great for small gatherings of friends. It all depends on your needs.
