One of the perks of being a country dance band that provides the music and caller for ceilidhs and barn dances throughout Somerset and Devon is the beautiful places we go to and the lovely people we meet. So we were excited when Barnbuskers Ceilidh Barn Dance Band was invited to play our jigs and reels for a 30th birthday party at Wootton Courtenay in the heart of the rolling hills of Exmoor countryside near Minehead. It turned out to be the perfect sunny afternoon with a warm welcome from lovely young people with country dancing on the lawn in the open air and views of the local Exmoor hills to die for.
Band leader Judy called the dances and her daughter, Laura, led the band with some sprightly fiddling. Sarah providing a steady guitar accompaniment with Robin on clarinets (bass and A). It was a wonderful party in a delightful setting.
Barnbuskers Ceilidh Barn Dance Band provides traditional country dance folk music and a caller for lots of birthday parties in Somerset and Devon throughout the year as well as other special events and celebrations such as weddings or anniversaries. Our musician line up for a fun ceilidh or barn dance can vary from four musicians with caller for very large events, a Barnbuskers trio of three musicians with caller or a low cost duo with caller for smaller budget events. We can even supply a caller with Barnbuskers recorded music, great for small gatherings of friends. It all depends on your needs.
