90 years young and still dancing! What an amazing evening in a packed Stogumber Village Hall of friends who turned out to celebrate the 90th birthday with a wonderful evening of song and dance! The West Somerset based Stoggymen set the evening off to a good start on the stage with some ever popular traditional country joining in songs while the guests tucked into a birthday dinner that looked absolutely delicious.
Then the tables were cleared away and Barnbuskers Ceilidh Barn Dance Band took over for the rest of the evening providing the music with Bridget doing the calling for a traditional ceilidh barn dance. And what a barn dance with the guests proving beyond any doubt that age is no barrier to knowing how to party. Stogumber Village is a picturesque and thriving village set in a valley between the Quantock and Brendon Hills in West Somerset. Judging from last night, it also has a super strong community spirit. The village hall is medium sized, as village halls go, but is in a fabulous setting. With views over the village from the balcony that runs along the back of the hall, Barnbuskers Band members were able to relax until it was our turn to play.
