Here’s the tip! If your preferred country dance band with caller isn’t available on Saturday evening to play at your special birthday, wedding or anniversary, consider holding your celebration on Friday evening or Sunday! It might seem obvious but, in our experience, many enquirers don’t consider these alternatives.
Here’s why it’s worth asking about Friday evening and Sunday! Most people who are looking for a band for a barn dance or ceilidh, in our experience, specify Saturday evening as the time they want to hold their party. However, there are only 52 Saturdays in the year and busy bands, like Barnbuskers, find their Saturdays quickly get booked up for most of the year. After which, we get the enquiries but have to say, very sadly, we can’t help because we’re booked for that date.
So here’s our recommendation! Of course, by all means ask if your preferred band is available on the Saturday, but also consider asking about Friday and Sunday, if that would still work for you. It could be much easier to find the band of your choice.
Plus, if you do book Friday or Sunday, it might even save you quite a lot of money. This is because your preferred band might be willing to offer a lower price or offer a smaller (and cheaper) band option on a Friday or a Sunday than they would for a Saturday, knowing it would leave Saturday still available to book at the full price.
