June marks the beginning of Summer. The flowers are all out, the trees are green and the sun (mostly) just keeps on shining. It’s a time of traditional open air fetes and festivals and there is no better way of celebrating our local communities than with open air public ceilidhs or barn dances which is a favourite activity of Barnbuskers Ceilidh Barn Dance Band and Taunton is one of our favourite places! We’re still buzzing with the one at Vivary Park we did recently (see below) and thanks to all who came along and made it such a great afternoon of open air ceilidh dancing!
By the way, later this month, Barnbuskers is hosting an open air ceilidh barn dance at the Bridgwater Cultural Festival 2025, like the one we held above at Vivary Park, Taunton. The Bridgwater festival’s theme is “Community as a Superpower!” We like that because our music is all about bringing communities together and having fun. According to the organisers, ‘It will be a day filled with world music, dance, food and community spirit.’ It’s funded by Bridgwater Town Deal and The National Lottery Community Fund so it’s free and open to the pubic.
