Barnbuskers Ceilidh Barn Dance Band can often be heard saying that we love a good venue for our country dancing ceilidhs and barn dances. Nice village halls with perfect stages in lovely locations are always appreciated. But rarely do we come across such a gem for dancing as the Lawns Social Club, Taunton, Somerset with it’s sunken dance floor, large stage, convenient bar and surrounding seating and tables situated above and away from the dancing floor. It was truly a proper ballroom with wonderful acoustics. Perfect for our caller Bridget to organise a wonderful evening of barn / ceilidh country dancing as she did last night for an estimated over 70 dancers on a packed floor. Parking was easy too in the on site Lawns Club Car Park and a public car park opposite.

And the Lawns Social Club was not only appreciated by Rob and Judy who were Barnbuskers Duo country dancing musicians booked for the night. There were lots of lovely appreciative comments from Judy’s Ceilidh Class members who came along too. (Judy runs beginner ceilidh / barn country dance classes in Watchet and Minehead, West Somerset most week evenings.)
