Fun holiday things to do in Exmoor and West Somerset – Judy’s Minehead and Watchet Beginner Ceilidh Classes welcomes visitors

If you are on holiday and are looking for fun, easy things to do and would enjoy an hour dancing to cheerful traditional music, Judy’s Watchet and Minehead Ceilidh Classes welcomes visitors to Exmoor and West Somerset.

Judy’s weekly Beginners Ceilidh Classes are very informal and aim to put a smile on your face. The recorded music is from the popular West Somerset Ceilidh and Barn Dance Band Barnbuskers. You will be getting some exercise without noticing it. You don’t need to bring a partner, and many people don’t. Cost is on a pay as you go basis only £5 per session.

Wednesdays from 5-6 pm in Minehead Rugby Club Hall Alcombe, Minehead. TA24 6TR. (Lots of easy parking!)

Thursdays from 6-7 pm in Watchet Bowling Club Hall TA23 0EW.

Ceilidh dancing is a wonderful social activity that people of all ages can enjoy indoors or outdoors. It is a fun and social way to get some exercise, without the pain of an exercise class! You can wear your usual clothes – just make sure you have comfortable shoes.

The music is cheerful, bouncy and really easy to move to – you just need to be able to put one foot in front of the other! The dancing is social, great exercise and has been giving people of all ages a great time for hundreds of years. You could easily become addicted, in a good way! No previous experience is needed as this class is for beginners. You might think you can’t dance, but this is different, as each dance is explained, and instructions called out as the dance progresses. You don’t need to bring a partner – if the class has odd numbers, Judy joins in the dancing.
