2026 is set to be a fun-packed year for Barnbuskers, and we already have a lot more bookings than we had this time last year. Most of these are for birthday parties throughout Devon and Somerset, but we also have some weddings, a golden wedding anniversary, a 40th wedding anniversary and some village hall and social club events. We will also be doing our first school reunion!
So if you are thinking of booking us for a barn dance or ceildih and you have a particular date in mind, then it’s best not to wait too long, especially if it’s a Saturday you are looking for.
Return of the Ceilidh Classes
New Year is the time when many people are making New Year’s Resolutions to be more active, and if that’s you, and you’re local to Watchet or Minehead, then come along and try out Judy’s Ceilidh Classes.
These are a good opportunity for you to get some weekly exercise and fun while also learning the basics of country dancing. It’s also good exercise for the brain! We will be starting back in January and hope to see some new people joining us. There is no need to bring a partner. As it’s January, with Burns Night near the end, we will have a Scottish theme to the dances for the first few weeks, with old favourites such as Gay Gordons and Dashing White Sergeant
- Minehead Ceilidh Class at the Minehead Rugby Club. 5 – 6 pm on Wednesdays, starting on 7th January 2026
- Watchet Ceilidh Class at the Watchet Bowling Club. 6-7 pm on Thursdays, starting on 8th January 2026
You don’t need to commit yourself to coming to this every week, so if you can’t make it every week, that is absolutely fine. But it’s so much fun, we’re sure you’ll want to come every week if you can. It’s £5 per session. For more information, or to let Judy know you are coming, contact her using WhatsApp below.
Public ceilidhs and barn dances
We hope to put on another public barn ceilidh at the Rugby Club in Minehead some time this year, but we haven’t decided on a date yet.
At the moment, our next public barn dance is in Taunton on Friday 6th March at the Lawns Social Club.
