According to The Gateway, Yeovil, there are numerous possible uses for their amazing complex of halls and meeting rooms. To these, Barnbuskers Ceilidh Barn Dance Band would like to add that it’s an amazing places for a ceilidh too. We know because we played there last night and we’re still buzzing! We were in the Auditorium which has a seated capacity of 650 and possibly the largest loveliest stage we have ever performed on. The acoustics were great and there was even a very convenient bar for half time refreshments.

Added to that, the hall was packed with lots of happy enthusiastic dancers. Even with lots of tables for the food, the dance space was easily able to accommodate multiple sets of do-si-dos, left hand and right hand stars, circling to the left, circling to the right and galloping between the lines and more. Our dance caller, Bridget (photo below), did a great job of keeping the packed hall entertained whether beginner or experienced to ceilidh and barn dancing.

So, if you are thinking of holding a ceilidh or barn dance to celebrate a special event such as an anniversary, birthday, wedding or other event in the Yeovil area, it’s certainly worth checking out if The Gateway meets your needs. (It has a great car park too!)
