Looking for a fun, friendly, and lively way to spend your Thursday evenings? Whether you’re a seasoned dancer or have never tried a step in your life, come and join us for weekly Country Dance classes at Watchet Bowling Club, starting Thursday, September 25th, from 6pm to 7pm.
Led by Judy Mapledoram, a well-known figure in the local folk and dance scene and an insured member of the English Folk Dance and Song Society. These sessions promise an hour of movement, music, laughter, and community spirit. Judy brings years of experience, infectious energy, and a deep love for traditional dance β making every class welcoming and accessible for all ages and abilities.
What to Expect
πΎ Traditional Country Dancing β Think barn dances, reels, circles and squares. Joyful, social, and great exercise!
π» Toe-Tapping Tunes β You’ll be dancing to recorded music from the much-loved Barnbuskers Ceilidh Barn Dance Band, who regularly perform at ceilidhs across Somerset and Devon. (Fun fact: Judy is also the leader and organiser of this talented group!)
π« No Partner Needed β Come on your own, bring a friend, or round up a group β everyone gets to dance with everyone.
π Every Thursday, 6pmβ7pm β Starting September 25th and continuing weekly thereafter.
