Well here we are back again after a great weekend at Sidmouth Folk Festival 2025 in Devon. We were camped out in our van at the Sidmouth Cricket Club which is very central and lovely for seeing all our folky friends. The ceilidh folk barn dancing behind the Anchor Inn, was as great as ever and there was even some Cornish dancing to enjoy on the Sunday afternoon.
Better still, the dancing will carry on behind the Anchor Inn for the next few days. So, if you are able to visit Sidmouth Folk Festival, it’s worth checking the Anchor Inn dancing out with its great bands and great ceilidh dancing.
However, for Barnbuskers, today it’s back to work in Somerset and band leader Judy is preparing her dances for her next Wednesday evening ceilidh classes in Minehead. Yours truly is looking through some of the additional tunes that have been requested by the dance caller Barnbuskers is playing with next Saturday for a very special birthday party ceilidh. Both are nice tunes that should get everyone up, dancing and enjoying themselves…which, of course, is what dancing to live music is all about.
