Exmoor barn dance rocked last weekend in a real barn with young farmers, their friends and West Somerset ceilidh dance band Barnbuskers

Barnbuskers loves doing barn dances (ceilidhs) anywhere in Somerset and Devon but they are extra special when they are in a proper barn at a proper farm with proper young farmers and their friends whooping and hollering. Last Saturday, we had the pleasure, and it was a pleasure, of playing at a local Exmoor and West Somerset farm for an under 30s birthday party. The dancing, led by caller and band leader Judy, was wild and wonderful with proper barn dance music from our 4 piece band and young Laura (see below) leading on the fiddle. Almost everyone danced almost all the time. The atmosphere was wonderful !

Although Barnbuskers is always happy to travel widely throughout Somerset and Devon, it’s home is in West Somerset on the border of Exmoor and this made last weekend’s barn dance even more special.

So to Exmoor and West Somerset young farmers we say, Barnbuskers loves playing locally and, if you are thinking of holding a barn dance, whether it’s in a barn or a local village hall, we’d love to come along with our caller to provide your dance music and make your barn dance go with a swing.
