Last Saturday evening (15th March 2025), Barnbuskers Ceilidh Barn Dance Band was really feeling the love at Country Ways, High Bickington, Barnstaple, Devon, UK and agreed it was definitely their best and favourite Devon wedding venue to host a ceilidh barn dance.
It was one of those evenings when everything went great. We loved the hay bales that set the stage perfectly, giving us space to play at our best, close to but separate from the enthusiastic ceilidh dancers.
Expert dance caller, Simon Maplesden was on good form, keeping the dancers happy on a very crowded and enthusiastic floor with a lovely mixture of dancers of all ages.
The chicken and fish goujons with chips were perfect for a quick meal before the dancing started and the bar was well stocked with a choice of zero alcohol for the drivers as well as a great range of drinks guaranteed to keep the party buzzing until the end.
So Country Ways wedding venue definitely got Barnbuskers vote as the best place to put on a ceilidh barn dance in Devon and without any doubt it is top of our list.
Of course, ceilidh barn dances are a great way for families to get together and celebrate with the sort of music and dance where all ages can join in. Dances are easy and clearly explained by the dance caller before and during the dance so everyone has a great time. The dance caller fits the fun dances to those present taking into account ages and abilities. Whether it’s a wedding celebration, anniversary or special birthday party ceilidh barn dance, it’s all about family and friends having the best of times from children to grandparents and athletic teenagers to wheelchair users.
So we are looking forward to going back at the earliest opportunity, either for an open to the public dance, like last Saturday, or for a private wedding party or anniversary celebration for which Country Ways is ideal with it’s lovely rural location. Without doubt, we really felt the love from the wonderful Country Ways family who provided the perfect venue for Barnbuskers to host a Barnbuskers ceilidh barn dance to remember.
