For many years I played league tennis for Minehead Tennis Club and on many occasions had the pleasure of visiting and enjoying a friendly welcome from home side tennis players at the Wiveliscombe Tennis Club courts . So when Barnbuskers band leader Judy told me she was off to do a family ceilidh barn dance at next door Wiveliscombe Rugby Club function room with her daughter and son, I looked forward to hearing how they got on.
Needless to say, the welcome they got at the Wiveliscombe Rugby Club and function room was typically excellent and the 50th birthday ceilidh barn dance went extremely well with Simon Maplesden calling the dances, band leader Judy on fiddle, Ryan on guitar and Laura on bass guitar. It was a real family party with our family of musicians and a great mixture of age groups enjoying the dancing.

So, if you are in the Wiveliscombe area or nearby towns of Taunton or Wellington in Somerset and are thinking of holding a ceilidh / barn dance or other event to celebrate a special birthday party, anniversary, wedding or other event, the Wiveliscombe Rugby Club function room is worth checking out to see if it meets your needs.
Wherever you decide to hold your birthday celebration in Somerset or Devon, Judy, our Barnbuskers band leader and intrepid organiser, would love to hear from you on the Barnbuskers contact page.
By the way, as well as special birthday parties, anniversaries and wedding party ceilidhs and barn dances, Barnbuskers also provides live music and the dance caller for open to the public events put on by local communities and organisations.
