One of the great things about travelling around Somerset and Devon with Barnbuskers ceilidh barn dance band is the wonderful people we meet and the interesting places we discover. The Wyndham Arms, where we celebrated Burns Night 2025, at Kingsbury Episcopi is run by extremely welcoming Robyn Janine McLennan and Willow Reed and is a wonderful rustic pub full of character. Down from London, professional photographer Tamra Elizabeth Evans Photography perfectly captured it’s friendly ambiance, charm and the sheer joyfulness of this Wyndham Arms Burns Night. It was a night of fellowship, community, making new friends and definitely a night to remember.
In a busy evening keeping thirsty ceilidh dancers happy serving beers, ciders and other drinks behind the bar, Robyn still found time to make us Barnbuskers feel welcome.

Being a Sassenach, I was a bit nervous at the thought of munching the haggis but I shouldn’t have worried, the haggis vol-au-vents went down a treat and were very tasty. Here Willow Reed is getting the haggis vol-au-vents ready to be paraded around the pub to the sounds of Barnbuskers fiddlers.

Barnbuskers band leader put her accordion down and joined her brother Rob in the parading of the haggis, proudly led by Craftsmans Cabin Ana Damas of (one of the UK’s 30 most romantic places to stay according to The Times), around the Wyndham Arms Kingsbury Episcopi pub and then up to the function room where the ceilidh was being held.

So, if you are looking for a lovely rural pub full of character and a friendly welcome, why not check out the Wyndham Arms, Kingsbury, Episcopi, Somerset.
