The one downside to ceilidhs and barn dances is that they can be a bit hard on the knees, especially for those that like to dance energetically like myself (other ways of ceilidh barn dancing are definitely possible!). Add to that my passion for tennis and the onset of advancing years and remedial treatment is regularly on my agenda. My GP tells me cycling will strengthen my hams and quad muscles and fix my aching knees. Cycling takes me to lovely spots like Roadwater Village Hall in the depths of West Somerset UK countryside (which, dare I mention, could be a great place for a Barnbuskers ceilidh barndance) and the next door Roadwater Community Store and Cafe which is a great place for a nice cup of tea for a passing cyclist. So I’m quite happy following doctors orders!

So, if you are looking for a nice rural village hall in the West Somerset UK area, it might well be worth checking out Roadwater Village Hall to see if the location and facilities meets your needs. While you are visiting Roadwater, the Roadwater Community Shop and cafe could be a great opportunity for a nice bite to eat or cup of coffee or tea. If your plans are for an anniversary, birthday party, wedding or other special event ceilidh or barn dance then we would love to hear from you via our Barnbuskers contact page. On the other hand, if you are just enjoying the lovely countryside in the Roadwater valley, to fix your knees or just for pleasure, have a great time and, possibly, Happy Cycling!
