Barnbuskers ceilidh barn dance band musicians and caller had a wonderful time at West Monkton Village Hall, Taunton, Somerset providing birthday party country dance music for lots of enthusiastic dancers. The village hall was exceptional with it’s spaciousness and excellent facilities.
Barnbuskers provides the music and caller for barn dances and ceilidhs at lots of different venues throughout the year. Some are large, some are small, Some have stages and at others we have to squeeze into a corner of the room. Once we even had to build the stage before using it with a jigsaw collection of boarding. We usually allow lots of time before the dance to set up and test our equipment and even sometimes do a pre-dance site visit to make sure things go smoothly. It’s what we do and what we love to do.
West Monkton Village Hall, Taunton, Somerset has a large Main Hall stage which was ideal for our musicians (violin, clarinet, accordion, bass guitar) and caller Simon Maplesden.
The acoustics were wonderful and lots of people of all ages were dancing and having a wonderful time. There is even a noise abatement system in operation which switches off all the power to the stage in case it goes over a certain level (lol!) … very high-tech.
