Country dance, or barn dance musicians and callers frequently have to travel great distances, but it’s worth it because we love what we do 😀
Barnbuskers country dance band has played upbeat and cheerful country dance band music since its inception throughout Somerset and Devon for a wide range of fun family dance get togethers and other events.
Cornish folk music tunes have a very special rhythm, and Cornish traditional music and dance has a compelling uniqueness that it’s hard not to like, some time in the future, we’d like to add Cornwall to that list.
Whether it’s English country dance or a Cornish ceilidh, there is something about the shared experience of the do-si-do, left-hand, and right-hand stars and circles, together with galloping between the lines as everyone claps, that people love and which brings people and especially families of all ages together.
The laughter of the dancers, at times, can almost overwhelm the music and the voice of the dance caller. (It’s certainly a good thing we have lots of amplification in our pa equipment, lol!)
Barnbuskers ceilidh country barndance band is based in Somerset but is happy to travel to Devon. We just love what we do and, happily, judging from the feedback from the country dances and the ceilidhs we have provided, our audience thankfully loves what we do too.
