There are many wedding venues around with wedding barns that are suitable for barn dances. Many people choose to have a ceilidh (the scottish name for a barn dance) at their wedding because it is such good fun and all the family can participate.
But what does a wedding venue do with its barn on the days when it doesn’t have a wedding on?
Have a barn dance, of course!
Barnbuskers was recently very pleased to be asked to put on a barn dance at the Country Ways wedding venue in North Devon, near High Bickington, Umberleigh. Country Ways has a particularly lovely example of a wedding barn.

We weren’t sure whether they would be able to sell enough tickets, but we needn’t have worried – over a hundred had been sold, even two weeks before the event!
It probably helped that the tickets weren’t too expensive at £10 each, and there was food included.

The event was a huge success, the place was packed and although it is a big space, the room was squeezed full of dancers. We were also asked to stay on for another half an hour at the end of the evening – that’s always a good sign, and a measure of how much everyone was enjoying themselves.

After this success, we wonder why more wedding venues don’t do barn dances. They are a great way to fill in the gaps between weddings. We were very happy, and so was Country Ways.

They even gave us a lovely review afterwards and are planning to book us again – maybe in the dark days of January when everyone needs cheering up.
Country Ways Review
“What a fabulous night had by all.
From the moment we booked the Barnbuskers for our Barn Dance Event at Country Ways they were fantastic. So helpful and well organised.
Country Ways had over 100 guests for the Barn Dance and everyone was laughing and smiling. From young to old everyone joined in and had such a lovely evening.
We will definitely be recommending the Barnbusker and are already thinking about our next Barn Dance.
Thank you so much the Barnbuskers team you made a very memorable evening for all.
